Wolverhampton road flooded and homes left without water as mains pipe bursts
A Wolverhampton road was flooded and parts of the Black Country were left without water after a pipe burst in the city.
Stowheath Lane in East Park was flooded after the mains pipe burst on Saturday - leading to around a thousand calls to water company Severn Trent.
Many residents in the city were left without water while others were only able to get brown water from their taps.
Water supplies were restored by Saturday night.
A spokesman said: "The pipe is all fixed and all supplies are back on now."
Severn Trent earlier said the problem had affected "some customers in the east side of the city" but supply problems were also reported in Willenhall and parts of Walsall.
The water company had maintenance teams on site digging up the road and replacing the broken stretch of pipe on Saturday evening.
A spokeswoman from Severn Trent, said at the time: “We’re currently dealing with a burst water pipe on Stowheath Lane, Wolverhampton.
"This is one of our biggest pipes and so it may be affecting some customers in the east side of the city.
“Our teams are on site now and are starting to work to fix the pipe. In the meantime we’re working hard to bring water into the area via our network of pipes and in tankers.

“We know that having no water is really difficult and we want to reassure everyone that we’re doing everything we can to get things back to normal as quickly as we can.
“We have customer teams at the burst site to help people and we’re keeping everyone who may be affected updated regularly.
"Also, our vulnerable customers are all being looked after to make sure they have what they need.”
Later on Saturday night, Severn Trent tweeted: "We want to thank everyone in #Wolverhampton who has been very patient with us today whilst our team carried out a repair on a burst water pipe. Your water should be coming back on very shortly and we would like to apologise again to anyone who has been affected by this today."
