MK Sidhu supermarket based in Steelhouse Lane, Wolverhampton, made a significant donation of food items to Ettingshall Pantry and Excel Church Food Bank to support with their food projects in the run up to the festive season.

Since its opening Excel Church food bank has distributed 13,608 food parcels to the local community of Wolverhampton, Ettingshall and Bilston.

And the church is going to continue supporting the community with these food parcels – as well as doing a specific Christmas appeal where they will be distributing 150 Christmas hampers, toys and clothing to families in need.

They are also providing a Christmas day lunch – which will be already packed ready for them to heat up at home – to 50 individuals or families.

Excel Church volunteer Chris Burden: "We're really grateful to one of Wolverhampton's own small businesses MK Sidhu's for their extremely generous donation to our food bank.

"These items will go a long way in supporting the most vulnerable in our community.

"What's really moved me is how generous businesses like this, who have been hit hard by the pandemic themselves, are so motivated to support their local community. It goes to show that, in Wolverhampton, we look after our own and I've never been prouder to be a Wulfrunian."
