Car flips onto roof in dramatic Wolverhampton ring road crash

A car ended up on its roof on a main route into Wolverhampton city centre following a dramatic crash.

The red car came to a rest in the middle lane of Ring Road St George's, near the Bilston Street island, on Saturday evening.

Police and recovery teams arrived the move the car, which had blocked the main road.

Police said the crash involved several cars and that a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Glass and debris were scattered over the road and needed to be cleared before the road could be fully reopened.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police are investigating a collision on St George's Ring Road, Wolverhampton, which took place just before 8pm last night involving several cars.

"No serious injuries were reported and a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. He remains in police custody this morning.
