Former Monkey House pub transformed into care centres
An old disused pub in Wolverhampton has been transformed into two specialist care homes.
The former Monkey House pub site in Kent Road has been refurbished into a pair of homes - Trinity Court, which assists people with mental health issues, and Royal Park, a facility for patients with neurological conditions.
Leading city figures, including Wolves legend Steve Bull and Wolverhampton South East MP Pat McFadden, visited the ‘unique’ facilities last week, both run by Brierley Hill-based Select Healthcare Group, and praised them for allowing local people to get the right care, close to home.
MP Pat McFadden, who took a tour of the buildings, said: “I’m thrilled to have such a unique facility in my constituency which will cater to the needs and recovery of people suffering from mental health issues and neurological conditions.
“There is no facility like this in Wolverhampton so the hope is that it allows local people to get the right care and support they need close to home.
"I look forward to working with them in the future and I’d like to particularly thank Steve Bull MBE for coming to open this ‘Premier League’ facility in my constituency today.”
The Monkey House pub had been closed for almost a decade.
