Severe fire takes hold at Wolverhampton factory
Firefighters have been tackling a 'severe' blaze at a factory in Wolverhampton.
Six crews attended the blaze at a factory unit in Owen Road, at its junction with at Great Brickkiln Street, from around 9am today.
The road was closed and people have been asked to avoid the area.
A paramedic officer and two crews from the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) at West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.
There are however no reported injuries and it is believed there was nobody inside the factory when the fire took hold.
Crews used breathing apparatus to allow them to get close to fight the flames.
A number of chemicals have been found at the site but are not involved in the fire.
Ambulance service spokesman, Murray MacGregor, said: "It said there has been a potential collapse of part of the building.
"Nobody was reported as being inside the building and nobody has been reported hurt."
