The discovery of 687 plants – the equivalent of around £700,000 worth – was made in Navigation Street.
One person is in custody believed to be aged 17.
The West Midlands Police Cannabis Team tweeted a picture of dangerous wiring at the premises saying: “Massive electrical load with unsafe wiring. Road being dug up to cut off power to building.”
There were also holes in the floor covered by cardboard.
The call-out came yesterday as the team were filming for Crimewatch Roadshow about how police and fire crews deal with cannabis factories.
One officer from the team tweeted: “From telly to smelly all in one day.”
