The incidents allegedly took place at Wolverhampton station in Merridale Street and the Woodgate Valley station in Stonegate Lane, Birmingham.

Bosses at the fire service launched an investigation but no-one has been disciplined or suspended.

Area Commander Sarah Warnes, strategic lead for people with West Midlands Fire Service, said: "These incidents are extremely disappointing but isolated.

"They have been robustly investigated.

"We have taken extensive action as a result of our inquiries, based on the information we currently have."

Ms Warnes also condemned the behaviour of the culprits.

She said: "Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and has no place in our organisation.

"We’re a modern-day fire and rescue service with a professional, dedicated and diverse workforce and a proven track record for promoting inclusion and diversity both in the fire service and in the community.

"Our staff work hard to deliver an excellent service to our communities and we expect them all to genuinely uphold our values and the highest standards of behaviour.

"We positively encourage staff to challenge any behaviour that doesn’t meet our standards."
