Little Ivy gives up the sweet stuff for charity
A chocolate-mad youngster ditched the sweet stuff to raise cash for charity.
Ivy Young, aged seven, from Willenhall, gave up all chocolate and sweets for two weeks in aid of Cancer Research. And she has smashed her original fundraising target of £100, raising more than £1,000 so far.
Ivy came up with the idea herself after wanting to do something to give back to charity.
The determined youngster began the challenge on January 17, and successfully completed the two weeks without sweets.
Fallon Young, Ivy’s mother’s, said: “We have lost family and friends to this awful disease and currently we know people fighting a hard battle against it and she would like to try and help.
"Ivy loves her sweet treats, so for two weeks she gave up sweets and chocolate in the hopes of raising her £100 target.”
Ivy’s mother is incredibly proud of her daughter’s fundraiser and grateful to those who have supported her during the fortnight-long challenge.
Fallon added: “Times are tough for everyone but she really wants to help those suffering from this horrible illness. We are proud of her.”
