Hundreds attended the event at All Saints Church in Darlaston on Saturday.

The church, which aims to host a number of fun days a year, had a large marquee outside which included face painting, arts and crafts and a number of stalls. There was also a bouncy castle and tea, coffee and cake was available inside the church.

The event was organised by Interfaith Darlaston with the help of Walsall Council and Heart of England which provided funding.

Reverend Gilbert David, the vicar at All Saints Darlaston and All Saints Moxley, said: "It was a brilliant event, so far the best one we have had.

"We normally do two events a year to bring communtiies together from all ifferent faith backgrounds.

"It was very well attended, all the communities came together and we had good fun. There was lots for the children as well with the bouncy castle and face painting.

"There was lots going on and plenty of food from cake to pakoras.

"We had a lovely day helped by the lovely weather even though it was meant to rain all day.

"We had Healthwatch and some other groups from the council who had stalls and were giving out useful information about health. It was very beneficial.

"The mayor of Walsall was also in attendance and he announced the winner of the baking competition.

"We probably had 300 people turn up, it was very well attended and probably the best attended one we have had."

Mr David added: "The event was organised under the banner of Darlaston Interfaith group. We had representatives from Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christianity in attendance, all communities working together and supporting each other."
