Mylee Billingham: £4k raised for family of tragic eight-year-old
Fundraisers united to raise cash in memory of schoolgirl Mylee Billingham who was stabbed to death in Brownhills.
Well-wishers hosted a fun day fundraiser for the youngster at St James’ Church hall in Brownhills yesterday.
Pink balloons were released in memory of the eight-year-old outside the hall and there were stalls, games, prizes to be won and face painting.
A gofundme page has already received £3,900 in donations for Mylee’s family and a fundraising group has been set up on Facebook. More than £520 was raised at the Vicarage Road church.
William Billingham is accused of murdering his daughter Mylee on January 20.
The 54-year-old is also alleged to have made threats to kill to the girl’s mother.
Billingham, of Valley View, Brownhills, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court last week.
He is expected to enter pleas to the charges at his next hearing before the court on March 19.
Andy Nicholls, Mylee’s former headteacher at St James’ Primary School, said: “Everyone at the school is completely devastated.
“Mylee was dearly loved by us all. Her smile lit up the room – in fact it never left her face. She was a fun loving, happy eight year old.”
