Mylee Billingham murder: Inquest adjourned as arrested father remains in hospital
An inquest into the death of tragic schoolgirl Mylee Billingham has been opened and adjourned.
The brief hearing at Black Country Coroner's Court today heard the eight-year-old's father Bill Billingham, 54, who was arrested on suspicion of murdering her, is still in Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital receiving treatment for injuries he sustained the night Mylee died.
He will be quizzed by police when he is discharged.
Mylee, of First Avenue in Brownhills, was found dead on Saturday, January 20, at an address in Valley View nearby.

Coroner's investigator Margaret Collins said she was formally identified by her mother.
Detective Inspector Jim Colclough from West Midlands Police homicide department, said: "West Midlands Police are running a murder investigation into the death of Mylee.
"Our forensic and witness strategies continue.
"A male suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“He is at Queen Elizabeth hospital receiving treatment for injuries he sustained that evening.
“When he is discharged it is my intention to take him to a police station and interview him in relation to the offence.”
Emma Whitting, Assistant Coroner for the Black Country, adjourned the inquest until ‘such a time that West Midlands Police are content that it is resumed’.
