Bloxwich pub shut down after shooting will be demolished to make way for new flats
A Bloxwich pub which was shut down following a shooting in the bar more than 15 years ago will be pulled down to make way for new apartments.
Sep Properties Ltd has been given the go-ahead to demolish The Eagle, on Cresswell Crescent, and replace it with a new block containing nine two-bedroom flats.
The building is currently dilapidated and boarded up, and has been since it closed following a bar room brawl on St Patrick’s Day in 2007, which resulted in one man being shot in the leg.
In the years following its closure the site has suffered from anti-social behaviour issues including arson and fly-tipping, resulting in calls for the area to be cleaned up.
Agents Simpatico Town Planning said: “The existing building in situ on the site was formerly a public house.
