Bloxwich crash: Man who died after his car hit a tree named as 21-year-old Kieron Ford

The father killed in Walsall after his car hit a tree has been named as 21-year-old Kieron Ford.

Kieron died late on Friday night after his silver VW Golf, which he was driving, hit a tree on Ingram Road in Bloxwich.

His 17-year-old brother was also in the car at the time of the crash. He suffered serious internal injuries and multiple fractures and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The accident happened around 11.30pm.

Kieron's family has today paid tribute to a 'loving father, son, brother and grandson'.

The family said: “We are devastated to have lost a loving father, son, brother and grandson in such tragic circumstances. We, as a family, ask for privacy to grieve at this very difficult time.”

West Midlands Police continues to investigate the incident, and is urging anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Alan Wood said: “We are working to explain exactly what happened and led the vehicle to leave the road. At this stage we believe there were no other vehicles involved but we’d like to hear from anyone who saw what happened."
