DIY SOS TV debut for Aldridge-made balustrades
An Aldridge company will feature on one of the nation's favourite TV shows tonight after supplying its services free of charge to help a disabled father return to this family home.
Stainless Handrail Systems (SHS), a balustrade and glass manufacturer, worked on BBC One’s DIY SOS, helping father-of-two Ben Wernham return to his Cotwsolds home in the Cotswolds after he suffered a life-changing accident that left him paralysed from the neck down and unable to access his property.
After the DIY SOS team reached out to SHS directly, the company installed external frameless glass balustrading free of charge for a newly-built footbridge at Ben’s house in Avening, helping reunite him with his family and even enabling him work from home again as a project manager.
“Working with one of the most popular home renovation shows on television was a brilliant experience and we were delighted that we could make a difference to Ben and his family,” said Rebecca Ashmore, sales and marketing director at SHS.
“We pride ourselves on creating bespoke designs for our clients and this project is a shining example of where we have risen to the challenge to meet very specific requirements.”
SHS, based at West Point industrial park, boasts more than 25 years’ experience in designing, manufacturing, supplying and installing handrails, balustrading and glass products.
