Walsall Society of Artists is holding an exhibition at The New Art Gallery Walsall

The exhibition includes 150 pieces which are a mix of paintings, mixed media and sculpture.

Tom Davis, gallery assistant, said: "This year is the 70th exhibition and it's held every year.

"We've been in this building for 20 years, so the first 50 years it was at the old gallery.

"The pictures are often bought for Christmas presents.

"The 150 in the show are comprised of many paintings, some mixed media and sculpture, bags and craft items, so it's quite varied.

"The paintings are a lot of traditional ones but also abstract work.

"It always brings in a lot of people as they're quite interested to see what's going on.

"Every weekend they do demonstrations and members bring in their easils so people can come and see how they get made."

The exhibition will end on Sunday.

The art gallery is hosting an exhibition from February celebrating its 20th anniversary.
