Amira's sun lounge in Walsall recently had a makeover and marked its new look by inviting mayor Councillor Marco Longhi and his wife Andrea Longhi to visit.

Staff member Simone Slevin said: "It was really good. We really didn't expect him to come at all.

"The mayor's daughter used to have her nails done in the beauticians next door."

She added: "We did afternoon tea for them. He was lovely.

"The mayoress said she will come in again and get her hair and nails done."

The salon is also holding an open day this Sunday so the public can see the work that's been done.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of treatments including hairdressing, nail therapy and botox treatment.

A clairvoyant will also be on hand for those wanting more than just a new do.

A raffle taking place on the day includes a £30 cake voucher, as well as other vouchers for hair and beauty treatments.

The open day takes place from 11am to 3pm and is open to all.

Entrance is free and refreshments will also be available.
