Walsall's Equator club closes down
A town centre night spot has closed down after less than a year in business.
Equator opened up in Lichfield Street in May last year.
Around £300,000 was spent on revamping the former Chicago Rock Cafe into a trendy shisha lounge.
The club could host around 900 people a night and employed around 20 staff.
But it hosted its final night on Saturday, January 13.
Owner Zak Martin, from Great Barr, told the Express & Star he had been forced to sell the business due to family commitments, while he was also looking at other ventures.
He said: "We have spent a lot of money on it and a lot of people have told me it is the best looking place in Walsall.
"Unfortunately due to family issues I have no choice but to sell it, but I hope someone takes it on and gets it going again.
"They will be getting a right bargain."
The leasehold is listed for sale for £160,000.
