James and Amy Barnes

James Barnes, aged 30, was discovered dead at a bungalow in Linforth Drive, Streetly, believed to be his parent's home, shortly before midnight on Monday, September 25.

Around 40 minutes later his wife Amy Barnes, nee Shimell, a 32-year-old nurse, was found lifeless at an address in Cofton Park Close, Rednal.

Inquests into their deaths were previously opened and adjourned at Birmingham Coroners Court earlier this month.

The full hearings have been listed to resume at the same venue the week beginning December 18, where the full details and circumstances around what happened are set to emerge.

An initial post-mortem revealed Amy died from a single stab wound to the neck.

It is thought she was killed by James who then drove to his parents and took his own life.
