Planned strike action by teachers at a troubled school has been put on hold after 'positive talks' with bosses.

NUT and NASUWT teachers at Willenhall E-ACT Academy were set to strike today and tomorrow due to their belief that E-Act bosses weren't listening to them in their efforts to improve the school.

Union bosses had said that they were concerned about the safety of staff, the school’s behaviour management systems and unreasonable management demands.

A strike was held last week outside the school, which was recently branded inadequate by Ofsted.

However, planned strikes this week have been put on hold.

Strike action is pencilled in for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week pending any further developments.

Russ Bragger, Walsall NUT secretary, said: "Planned strike action at Willenhall E-Act Academy has been postponed due to positive talks between staff, unions and management.

"We are hoping for more positive talks in the coming days but action is pencilled in for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week."
