Nine years on: Shropshire fish and chip shop destroyed in explosion is set to reopen
A Shropshire fish and chip shop is getting ready to open its doors again - nine years after it was destroyed in an explosion.
The owners of Broseley fish and chip shop are preparing to open for business at last.
The explosion happened in February 2009, blowing out doors and windows 60 feet across the town's High Street.
Nine years on the business owners have overcome many obstacles and are now ready to open the doors again at 4pm on Wednesday.
Owner Mandy Sandhu said: "We're really happy to be opening again after what seems like such a long and winding road. It's been such a long time coming and we have finally done it.
"There's been quite a few obstructions during the building work, but we've persevered with some breaks in between. It's now been around nine years since the accident.
"We've had a lot of support from locals living in and around Broseley, which has been great and we are really grateful for. Me and the family are just really glad to be back in business again and are looking forward to getting back to normal.
"We can't wait to welcome everyone back and would love people to come and join us for our opening event."
All customers on the night will be offered a 25 per cent discount, as well as a free drink to the first 40 customers.
