Staffordshire Police managed to bring the driver to a stop after they refused to comply with police in the West Midlands force area.
The driver, who was reportedly moving all over the motorway, was subjected to a roadside breathalyser test - which saw a result of 104.
In England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, the legal limit for breathalyser tests when driving is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath - making this driver almost three times the legal limit.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, officers shared a picture of the police vehicles, with the caption: "Driver reported all over the road this morning M6 south through @StaffsPolice.
"We sighted it where it failed to stop into the West Midlands area. We were assisted by @Trafficwmp bringing it to a stop. Driver blew 104 roadside!"
The driver was subsequently arrested.
