Samuel Myatt was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when it left the A518 and hit a tree on January 12.

Samuel, from Gnosall, died as a result of his injuries at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

His mother Liz Stanley paid an emotional tribute to her son, who she described as a 'lovely young man'.

She said in a Facebook post: "One of the happiest days of my life was when I gave birth to my eldest, Sam. As a young mum, we did everything together - us v the world!

"He grew up into such a lovely young man. I'm so lucky to have been his mum and myself and his little brothers are so heartbroken that he's been taken from us too soon.

"Hug your children, spend time with your children as you don't know what's round the corner.

"I take comfort in the lovely messages received, thank you. I know he was loved and lived life to the full.

"Until we meet again, Sam. I love you so much, my precious, beautiful boy."

A road safety campaign has since been launched calling for improvements on the A518.
