Stafford-based Katharine House Hospice's 10K run and 5K fun run will see hundreds of athletes – both amateur and advanced – take to the estate to help raise money for the hospice.

Taking place on October 8, the 10k route is a picturesque cross country trail, with a token hill thrown in while the 5k route is a mixed terrain flat route and suitable for all abilities.

This year's race will start at 10am and there will be a staggered start.

Both runs will be chip timed and all finishers will receive a commemorative medal.

Adults entry for the 10k event costs £15 per person and £12 for the 5k race

Under 16s can enter either event for £5 per person.

Runners are urged to sign up sooner rather than later to avoid prices increasing by £5 per adult on the day of the run.

The hospice provides a range of free services offering help, care and support for people with advanced life-limiting conditions across mid-Staffordshire.

These conditions include multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, end stage renal failure and cancer.
