Kinver restaurant to reopen after positive coronavirus case

A restaurant which had to close after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus will reopen today.

Harley's Smokehouse, in Dunsley Road, Kinver, closed on September 7, after "a person within Harley's Smokehouse's building tested positive for Covid-19".

The restaurant later said in a Facebook statement that the person who had contracted the virus was "from the back of house".

It was due to be closed for 14 days – but the restaurant has since revealed that they have been deemed safe to reopen from 12pm today.

In a statement, Harley's Smokehouse said: "Following our full cooperation with Environmental Health, who have visited the business and reviewed the Covid-secure controls we have in place, they have deemed us safe to open as of Friday [today] at 12pm.

"All of our staff are so excited to welcome you all back. We would like to thank Public Health England for their guidance and a huge thank you to our customers who have continued to support us."
