Motorland 2008 Ltd, opened on Rugeley Road in Cannock yesterday (Dec 27), with the hope of hiring a total of seven to eight people in the future.

It is the former site of Chase Car Sales which was boarded up suddenly in November, leaving many customers concerned about their warranties.

Less than a month later, Motorland has opened which sells used cars and has been doing so since 1981.

They already run three dealerships in Walsall at Somerfield Road, Lichfield Road and a service centre at Bloxwich Road.

Director Indy Pal said: "It is the fourth site we have opened in a 10 year period. We are a long-established company.

"We are trying to appeal to local people to show that we are there for them. People will be looked after and we can assure that because of our experience and we are here to stay."

There are currently three people employed on the site.

He said: "It is going really well. We have had a few people about this morning and a lot of interest because of the previous place closing down so suddenly.

"In the local community, the site is well known so hopefully we will have lots of curious people asking questions.

"Bringing Motorland to Staffordshire is a change to Walsall where the other sites are based. The company is spreading their wings."

The company directors were at the site in the morning with their family and friends for the official launch. They are looking to open more sites in the future.
