All lanes now clear after lorry fire in early hours shut A5 in both directions
A stretch of the A5 in Staffordshire that was closed for several hours after a lorry caught fire has now reopened.
Soon after 1am on Friday, National Highways: West Midlands announced: "The A5 is closed in both directions between the M6 Toll (Great Wyrley) and the B4154 (Norton Canes) due to a lorry fire."
A later update said: "Staffordshire Police are in attendance. Delays are likely on approach to the closure and diversion routes."
The A5 has since been cleared and is open in both directions between the M6 Toll Great Wyrley and the B4154 Norton Canes.
There are no significant delays in the area.
