Cameron Homes wants to build 130 dwellings and create public open space, allotments, a park, carry out groundworks and install infrastructure on land south of Landywood Lane between the villages of Cheslyn Hay and Great Wyrley.
However, the housebuilder's latest proposal to South Staffordshire Council is attracting concerns among residents who claim the area is already bursting at the seams with health and education services under pressure, and issues with traffic in narrow lanes.
Pam Gregory, said: "I've had a letter through my letterbox about the application. I live on Landywood Lane where there are already too many houses and they have two or three cars each. The schools and health services can't cater for it and the roads are too narrow."
Pauline Kelsey, of Streets Lane also in Great Wyrley added: "This whole area is former mining land. The land has settled over time, but there's insufficient infrastructure.
