Joan Hill, aged 73, from Rugeley, died on the A5 near Longford Island on New Year’s Day in 2023 when her car was hit by a stolen Ford Kuga.

The driver of the Kuga had been racing another stolen car at the time and entered the roundabout at speed hitting the passenger side of Mrs Hill's car, where she was sitting.

The car that the Kuga was racing, a Ford Focus, paused at the roundabout and picked up two people who had been inside the Kuga, and made off.

An unmarked police car nearby attended and attempted to pursue the Ford Focus but it was later found burned out in the Walsall area.

On Thursday at Warwick Crown Court, four people were sentenced for their part in the crash.
