Travellers pitch up on Cannock park
Travellers have once again set up camp in Cannock - this time on a park near a children's playground.

One year on from the introduction of a new protocol to stop illegal encampments, a number of caravans have appeared at parkland between Delta Way and Labemum Avenue.
A recent report from Staffordshire County Council advised that the cost of removing traveller encampments costs an average of £2,500 per encampment.

The travellers have been asked to leave the site but were still there by Friday afternoon.
Councillor Maureen Freeman, who represents the Cannock South ward, said: "We can't stand for this in our community any more, it is the mess they leave behind every time that is the problem.
"I hope they leave as soon as possible."
