The walking group

The group, based in Cannock Chase, has been going for three years and raises money by walkers donating 50p per walk.

It was started by resident Kaye Le Page in 2014 and had just four to six walkers who would meet at Springslade Lodge before walking off around the Chase together.

Now the group attracts between 30 and 50 walkers each time when it meets on the second Wednesday of every month. Walks talk place between 10am and midday.

Members are aged between 50 and 80.

Ms Le Page said: "The group have formed friendships and we all support each other since some members of the group live on their own."

In the past three years the group has walked all three peaks. They started with Ben Nevis before conquering Scafell and more recently Snowdon.

Most recently the group raised £260 for Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team and presented the team with its cheque last week.

Next year the group plans to walk a coastal path.
