Man dies after falling from M6 Toll bridge near Lichfield

A man has died after falling from bridge on the M6 Toll near Lichfield.

The man, who has not been identified, suffered serious injuries and was confirmed dead this morning.

Traffic was delayed on the M6 Toll between junction three, near Sutton Coldfield, and junction four for Lichfield South at around 7.30am.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called after a man fell from a bridge on the M6 Toll near the T4 junction just after 7.30am today.

"He suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "We were called at 7:31am to an incident involving one patient on the M6 Toll between junctions 4 and 3. We sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene."
