£2,000 raised for funerals of couple who died in A41 motorbike crash

More than £2,000 has been raised to help pay for the funerals of a husband and wife who were killed in a horror crash.

Stephen and Janine Mander, from Stone, died when their motorbike crashed into a tractor in Market Drayton.

Tributes have been paid to the couple and donations have flooded in to help pay for their funerals.

Mr Mander, 55, and 54-year-old wife Janine left behind two daughters.

Kim Murray, who set up the fundraising page, said: "Both Janine and Stephen were wonderful, kind and caring family members of the community these poor young girls have been left with no mother and father and please need all of the help and support we can give them.

"We are raising money towards the funeral cost which so we really need to act fast to help the poor girls with this burden. All of the funds raised will go towards all of the expenses for the funeral."

The couple died instantly in the collision on the A41 Crickmerry near Greystones on Sunday, March 24.

Mr Mander was the rider of the Yamaha motorbike when it collided with the tractor.

An inquest into their deaths was opened at Shirehall in Shrewsbury on Wednesday, April 3.

Mrs Mander, born in Jersey, was a prison officer while Mr Mander was a machine operator at JCB before his death.
