Appeal after 70-year-old attacked on school grounds
An elderly man was assaulted on the grounds of a school, prompting a police appeal.
The 70-year-old man was attacked at Stafford Manor High School on December 21 at 12noon.
He suffered a fractured right eye socket and nose.
Staffordshire Police are investigating.
Officers say the victim had approached the attacker on the grounds of the school in Wolverhampton Road, believing he was trespassing.
In a statement, the force said: "The unknown male responded by launching a completely unprovoked and sustained attack on the elderly gentleman which resulted in him receiving a fractured right eye socket and a fractured nose."
The offender was wearing a blue jacket, black trousers and trainers.
The school's term had finished for Christmas the day before the attack.
