Two fire engines, an ambulance and police arrived at the address in Bromford Lane, West Bromwich.

It followed a 999 call with somebody reporting they could see smoke coming from a property in the street.

Upon arrival, officers soon realised there was no house fire in the area.

The phone that made the report has since been tracked and West Midlands Police are treated it as a false and malicious call.

The incident unfolded at about 9.08am on Sunday.

A tweet from Oldbury Fire Station, which attended, said: "Multiple fire, police and ambulance resources called as a hoax to West Bromwich this morning. These calls can risk the lives of others."
