Volunteers from the West Brom get in the Christmas spirit with their hospital ward decorations.

More than two dozen volunteers from the West Brom helped put up a colourful array of Christmas decorations across the children’s wards of Sandwell General and City Hospitals.

Sarah Keyte, one of the volunteers, said: “We were all thrilled to be able to bring some joy to youngsters who are facing the difficult prospect of being in hospital over the Christmas period.

“There was a real enthusiasm amongst the team and everyone was keen to play their part in making a difference.

“Hopefully both the staff and patients are happy with the end result.”

Amanda Winwood, membership academy and fundraising manager for Your Trust Charity which is co-ordinating the festive donations for the hospitals, said: “The Christmas decorations have really brought a smile to staff and patients alike.

“We are hugely grateful to the West Brom for donating the decorations and providing the volunteers to help us put them up.

“It has certainly brought a lot of festive cheer to our children’s wards.”
