Halesowen playwright Stephen Moran will be presenting a double bill of his award-winning plays at the Barlow Theatre at Langley Green, near Oldbury, at the weekend.

The Sandlewood Mouse is a humorous tale about a Victorian porcelain rodent which couple Nick and Sue attempt to sell to pay their satellite television bill. It quickly emerges that the ornament could have a hidden value that and might fetch much more than the couple anticipated, and Nick hatches a cunning plan to maximise the price.

The Final 45 with Frank Farmer focuses on television personality Frank's final show, before he leaves to for the US, where he interviews his favourite guest, pop star and actress Tania Drew, along with her husband Tyrone. There seems to be friction between Frank and Tyrone, and it emerges that not everything is as it first seems.

Both plays, which have won awards at Worcestershire arts festivals, will be performed on Friday and Saturday evenings.

"In the classic tradition of Roald Dahl's original TV series, both plays have twists in their tales," said Stephen.

There will also be an acoustic performance from up and coming female vocalist Stella.

The show runs at the theatre in Spring Walk on Friday and Saturday this week, starting at 7.30 both nights.

Tickets are priced at £7 and £5 concessions are available from www.oldburyrep.org
