Man pleads guilty to attacking man and police officer in Oldbury

A man has pleaded guilty to wounding a man in Oldbury and attacking a police officer who attended the scene.

Kye Sylver, 35, was in Oldbury town centre on Thursday, March 27, when he spotted Jason Trough. 

After the two exchanged words Sylver viciously attacked Mr Trough. There were several reports to the police and PC Connor Kirby attended the scene. 

Sylver, of Maas Road, Northfield, Birmingham, proceeded to assault PC Kirby. However, Sylver ended the day in Oldbury Custody Suite. He was remanded in custody.

Sylver appeared in Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday charged with section 18 GBH with intent, which he pleaded not guilty to. 

However, Sylver did plead guilty to wound to inflict GBH without intent and common assault of an emergency worker. 

The prosecution accepted the pleas and Sylver will be sentenced on May 12 at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
