Isaac Brown was fatally wounded during a violent confrontation between two groups of youths in New Square Shopping Centre on April 7 which was captured on closed circuit television.

The jury on Wednesday was shown frame by frame footage of the attack taking place with commentary by prosecution witness Dc Steven Thorpe, of West Midlands Police.

A 14 and 18-year-old, who were aged 13 and 17 at the time of the incident, are accused of killing him and are standing trial at Bolton Crown Court.

Giving evidence in the witness box the officer told the jury that the images showed the two defendants enter the car park area and "walking in the same direction" as the victim and another youth.  He said the groups meet and during the confrontation and Isaac appears "to drop his rucksack on the ground and then turns to face the defendants". The 14-year-old defendant was filmed "with his  right hand bent upwards".
