Police and air ambulance called to incident in Tividale

An air ambulance, police and paramedics were called to an incident in the Black Country.

Ambulances and police cars were at the scene in Walford Street, Tividale, this afternoon.

West Midlands Police is yet to comment on the incident but a police helicopter was seen in the nearby area along with an air ambulance at around 1.15pm.

A police helicopter was then circling over Tipton at around 3.30pm.

The Midlands Air Ambulance landed on a playing field at nearby Tividale Community Primary School on Dudley Road West.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency at a property on Walford Street at 1.14pm.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one male patient who following treatment at the scene, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance."

West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.
