'It's a kick in the teeth' – RSPCA food bank parcel sold on Facebook Marketplace 'for profit'
A Black Country branch of the RSPCA is "hugely disappointed" after one of their food bank donations was sold on Facebook Marketplace.
The Stourbridge and District branch of the animal charity, which is completely run by volunteers, operates a food bank for owners who are struggling to feed their pets.
However, volunteers called it a "kick in the teeth" when they noticed that someone who had requested food bank support was selling their parcel on Facebook Marketplace for £20.
It comes during a challenging time for the branch and for animal rescues across the country, as they battle unprecedented numbers of animals needing homes amid the cost of living crisis.
One of the volunteers at the Stourbridge rescue said: "We're hugely disappointed to see one of our food bank donations is now being sold on Facebook Marketplace.
"They had asked for food bank support, which our volunteer Faye provided, and then they sold on the donation for £20 including delivery.
