Glass angel raises funds to help homeless in the Black Country
A Black Country glass maker has crafted a stunning creation in aid of a good cause.
Allister Malcolm, from Stourbridge, creates a number of bespoke or commissioned pieces.
He has turned his craft towards fundraising this Christmas and has made a statue of an angel in the form of glass.
Allister said: "I set a target of raising £300 for local charity the Good Shepherd Services.
"They do an awesome job feeding and looking after those in need.
"I'm offering those who donate £5 to the appeal a chance to win a beautiful piece of glass I'm creating which will be in the form of an angel."
Allister has been posting updates of the creating process on his Facebook page, Allister Malcolm Glass LTD, which have been viewed by hundreds of people.
The videos have shown how he has created the angel from start to finish at his studio in Wordsley High Street.
The glass figure was completed on December 23, with a few finishing touches to be added, Allister has made two for the winner to choose from.
Just a few days after launching the charity drive, more than £300 was raised.
Allister added: "After just three days I smashed that £300 target so I have increased it.
"Many people have wanted to be a part of something positive."
The fundraising total at the moment now stands at more than £1,000, with all of the proceeds going to the Good Shepherd Services who support homeless people in the Black Country.
