Students from King Edward VI College in Stourbridge spent time at Stourcote Dental Practice in Lower High Street as part of Tri-Dental’s dentistry outreach programme.

The youngsters spent time in the surgery observing treatments carried out by dentists and dental hygienists as well as working with reception teams.

The aim of the programme was to support students who were interested in a career in dentistry and develop the students appreciation of the responsibilities and requirements for dental practice environment.

Tri-dental marketing manager Ushma Vaidya planned and coordinated the outreach programme and invited Dr Thomas Addison, deputy head of admissions from the University of Birmingham Dental School, to provide a talk on dental student life and interview tips and insights.

Head of careers Paul Woodridge said the experience had been 'inspiring' for the students.
