Man arrested following death of victim 'found two hours' after Stourbridge crash

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of crash victim found injured in a Stourbridge street.

The victim, a man aged 37, was found with multiple injuries in Amblecote High Street in the early hours of Saturday.

It is thought the crash happened around two hours before emergency services arrived at 5.25am.

They worked to treat the man but he died at the scene.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after handing himself into a local police station.

Police say he has been released pending further investigation.

Officers are seeking anyone with information on how the man came to be injured.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from West Midlands Police, said: "A number of people have spoken to me and my team but I am appealing to anyone who has not yet come forward and who was in the area at around 3.30am around the time of the collision to contact me.

"The man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts remain with them at this sad time."
