Hundreds of people took on the 5km Neon Night Run on Friday to raise cash for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Hospice chiefs are hoping to repeat or better the success of last year's run, which raised more than £25,000.

A statement on Facebook said: "The Neon Night Run was beyond anything we can put into words, and we'll be doing all the big thank yous and letting you know how much you wonderful people raised next week as soon as we can.

"However...we just wanted to say that you wonderful people have made the most remarkable difference to a family here at the hospice, at a time where they need our care most of all.

"In your own bonkers way, of course. You danced constantly, screamed, shouted and simply made last night utterly incredible. We hope you enjoyed yourselves.

"You are our hospice family, and we simply don't know what we'd do without you. Thank you for a night to remember, we loved every second of it."
