Cheryl Roberts, 38, from Norton, in Stourbridge, has dropped from a size 30 to a slinky size 10 over the past three years.

At her heaviest she weighed 19st 11lbs but now she is a trim 10st 3lb.

The part-time dinner lady says she now wants to help others change their lives and achieve their weight loss dreams by setting up her own Slimming World group. Cheryl said: “I was someone who was out every weekend – eating all the usual takeaways and drinking – and then I woke up one morning and thought ‘It’s now or never, something has to change’. I could not carry on the way I was, it was just the simple things like getting in a car and worrying if the seatbelt would fit me.

“I would be stood in the playground with the other mums and my friend would suggest that I should join a Slimming World group - but I was always too scared to do it.”

Cheryl has been transformed

Cheryl had previously tried fad diets to loose weight, but cut out the fatty takeaways in exchange for pasta, rice, potatoes and lean meat and fish. “I changed my lifestyle and stopped bunging stuff in the oven all the time, I started to cook healthier for all the family.” she added.

Being a mother to Jack, 15, and Max, 11, also was key in motivating her to lose weight.

She added: “The children were like mini-motivators to me.

“Now it feels amazing to be able to walk into different clothes shops instead of just having the one to go to for my size.”

“I still go to the gym and keep the pounds off that way as well as being a key Slimming World member.”

Kerry Hill, who runs Slimming World’s Kingswinford and surrounding area team and manages Cheryl as a Team Developer, said: “With Cheryl’s experience of being a successful Slimming World member and her kind and warm personality and great sense of humour I just know that she’ll be an amazing support to members, cheering them all the way to their target weight.”
