Archaeologist will share his finds with Black Country history group

The stories that lie beneath the ground will be the subject of a talk at a Black Country history society.

Archaeologist Martin Holland will be guest speaker at the next meeting of Sedgley Local History Society on May 8.

Mr Holland is a member of Wolverhampton Archaeological Group, which has carried out numerous excavations in the region.

He will talk about some of the group's excavations and surprising finds.

Discoveries from recent years include a Second World War observation post, which was found at Marsh Park, Brierley Hill, and what is believed to be the crypt of an old church in Himley.

The meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, will be held at St Andrew's Church in Bilston Street, Sedgley, starting at 7.30pm.

Anybody is welcome to attend, and admission is £2.
