Man and teenager 'seriously injured' in 'stabbing' as police make 'number of arrests'

Two seriously injured people, including a teenager, have been taken to hospital after 'violent disorder' last night - while four teens have been arrested.

Police and paramedics descended on Chichester Avenue shortly before 8.30pm after receiving reports of a stabbing.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Chichester Avenue, Netherton, at around 8.25pm last night. An ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, two critical care paramedics and the air ambulance critical care car from Strensham were sent to the scene. Crews treated an adult male for serious injuries before he was conveyed to hospital."

Crews also treated a teenage male for serious injuries and conveyed him to hospital.

West Midlands Police said four teenagers were arrested in connection with the "violent disorder".

A spokesperson said: "We were called to an address in Chichester Avenue just after 8.20pm, following reports of a dispute, in which weapons were brandished. Two people received stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment, and damage was done to a property.

"Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. An 18-year-old man and 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. All four remain in custody.

"Our enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 or via Live Chat on our website quoting log 4076 of June 23."
