Human bone found at Kingswinford landfill is from adult man
A bone found in a landfill site in the Black Country is likely to be from an adult man, police have confirmed.
But further tests need to be carried out on the remains found at Himley Quarry landfill site in Kingswinford on Monday, West Midlands Police said.
And the discovery is not yet being linked to a criminal investigation.
The area was still cordoned off and being searched on Friday, the force confirmed.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "We continue to investigate after a human bone was discovered at Himley Quarry landfill site, Kingswinford on Monday.
"The area has been cordoned off and searches are being carried out.
"Forensic and archaeological analysis is underway. Early indications suggest the bone is from an adult man, however further tests need to be carried out.
"There is no information linking this discovery to a criminal investigation at this stage."
