Kingswinford crash victim named as 'loving' father of four
A father who died when his car overturned in a crash in Kingswinford has been named by police as tributes are paid by his devastated family.
James O'Brien, known as Jimmy, has been remembered as a ‘loving husband and father’ by relatives as an investigation continues into the crash.
His car rolled onto its roof in the crash which happened at the junction of Ham Lane and Stallings Lane on Monday.
A woman, thought to be aged in her 20s, stopped to try and help Mr O'Brien after the crash which happened at around 6.25pm.
The 28-year-old father of four was treated by members of the emergency services, including the air ambulance, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two fire crews from Brierley Hill station also went to help at the crash site.
In a statement his family said: "Jimmy was very much loved by all that knew him.
“He was a loving husband and father, a caring son and an amazing brother and uncle. He will be so deeply missed by all that knew him."
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from West Midlands Police's Regional Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a tragic set of circumstances for all involved.
"James’s family continue to be supported by our dedicated Family Liaison Team.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet been in touch with police to contact either myself or my team to help us piece together the circumstances."
The road was closed into the evening and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to speak with the Regional Collision Investigation Team on 101.
