35-seat mini-pub to open at former Halesowen chemist's shop
Plans to open a micropub at a former chemist's shop have been granted approval.
Head of planning at Dudley Council, Carl Mellor, has given permission to turn the former Murray's Chemist shop in Halesowen Road, Halesowen, into a 35-seat microbar.
But Mr Mellor stipulated that the pub, which will be known as the 'Cosy Cask', but close by 11pm.
There will also be an outside seating area at the rear of the building.
Two parking spaces are included as part of the development.
Planning officer Bethany Shinton said there had been no objections to the plans, which were in a well established shopping area.
"The use is appropriate for a centre location such as this and the proposal accords with local and national planning policy," she said.
The pub will still need to secure a drinks licence.
